Our Story
About Bayview Farm
Bayview Farm is a multi-generational family farm located along the scenic Black Bay in Lochaber, Quebec. Founded in 2000 by Stefan and Gail Steiner, the farm is now proudly transitioning to the next generation with their sons Matthew and Devin taking over the operation.
Matthew, along with his wife and their two children Royce and Leonie, continues the family legacy on the land. We raise and finish our own Angus cattle on pasture from birth to harvest. As a vertically integrated farm, we only sell what we raise , giving us full control from start to finish for the highest quality, traceability, and stable pricing.
All our animals are grass-fed and raised without antibiotics or growth hormones.

Our Farming Practices
At Bayview Farm, we run a traditional cow-calf operation where we raise and finish all our Angus cattle on pasture from birth to harvest.
We are strong believers in regenerative farming. Through careful rotational grazing and strip grazing, we manage our pastures so they continue to improve each year , becoming more productive and healthier over time instead of declining.
We are proud to work alongside Ducks Unlimited Canada, maintaining a wildlife reserve on parts of our property. This allows us to farm in harmony with nature, supporting both wildlife and healthy grasslands. Everything we do is designed to work with nature, not against it , building soil, improving biodiversity, and raising healthier animals.
Through rotational and strip grazing, we practice soil carbon sequestration , pulling carbon from the air and storing it in our soil. This builds healthier grasslands, improves water retention, supports wildlife, and helps combat climate change while producing nutrient-dense beef.
